Alec Udell joins Steller Motorsport for Nürburgring three-hour
Steller Motorsport has announced that Alec Udell will join its ranks for the upcoming Nürburgring three-hour and the fourth round of the GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup.
Udell will race alongside existing team drivers Lorcan Hanafin and Daniel Ali in the team’s Corvette, and is no stranger to the Z06 GT3.R. The Texan native set a new record in the GT World Challenge America Pro Class in 2024, with eight consecutive Pro Class victories in the Corvette for DXDT Racing, on his way to second in the championship. For 2025 he remains with DXDT Racing, contesting the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, again in the Z06 GT3.R.
As well as Corvette experience, Udell’s speed and talent are without question, with three titles to his name, including the 2019 SRO GT4 European Series Silver Cup.
Alec Udell said ahead of his Steller Motorsport debut, “I’m excited to be joining the Steller Motorsport squad at the Nurburgring in GT World Challenge Europe. The team has a long history of success and I will work hard to add to the positive results they’ve had already this season with the Z06 GT3R. Speaking with the Corvette engineers, they’ve expressed how quickly the team has gotten up to speed with the platform, and I know how capable Lorcan [Hanafin] and Daniel [Ali] are behind the wheel. I can’t wait to get back to the Nürburgring with a great car and a great team.”
Team manager, Max Daymond, “We’re really pleased to welcome Alec to the Steller fold and we’re confident that he’ll be an excellent addition to the team. His CV speaks for itself; he’s a proven driver with race and championship-winning experience, and he brings a wealth of Corvette experience with him, too, which will be extremely valuable. As a team, I think we’ve done a good job of learning the car this year, and while there were always going to be challenges, we’ve shown the potential we have. With Alec onboard, we’re confident that we’ll unlock more of that potential at the Nürburgring.”
The Nürburgring round of the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup takes place from 29-31 August, with the three-hour endurance race getting underway at 15:00, local time, on the Sunday.
