Steller Motorsport confirms driver lineup for Sprint Cup campaign

Steller Motorsport has confirmed its driver lineup for the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Sprint Cup season. The announcement comes ahead of the first Sprint Cup round of the year, which will take place at Brands Hatch in the UK on 3-4 May.

Behind the wheel of the team’s Corvette Z06 GT3.R will again be Belgian talent Matisse Lismont. He will be joined by rising Finnish star Jesse Salmenautio, the pair forming an exciting young duo in the Silver Class.

20-year-old Belgian ace Lismont heads to Brands Hatch fresh from putting the Steller Motorsport Corvette on the podium at the opening GT World Challenge Europe round at Paul Ricard, where the team claimed second place in the silver category.

New to the Steller stable, Salmenautio brings a wealth of international GT experience and has impressed in the ADAC GT Masters and the Asian Le Mans Series, with multiple pole positions and class wins.

Matisse Lismont said, “I'm looking forward to getting back in the Corvette and getting the sprint season started together with Steller Motorsport and Jesse. We obviously had a good Paul Ricard with the podium and I want to keep the positive flow going and continue aiming for high results."

Jesse Salmenautio said, “It's exciting to be back in GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup, with a new car and a new team for me. The team's already demonstrated its potential with the Corvette, and I feel we have a strong lineup, and I'm confident we can do well this weekend.”

Team manager, Max Daymond, commented, “After an excellent showing at Paul Ricard we’re excited to have Matisse back in the car in the sprint format. Bringing him together with Jesse gives us one of the most promising young pairings in the paddock. We’ve shown the potential of the Corvette already, and our potential as a team. Jesse’s GT pedigree is clear, and, combined, we believe have the right ingredients to be competitive from the outset.”

The 2025 GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Sprint Cup action at Brands Hatch will take place across the weekend of 3-4 May. On the Saturday, the cars hit the track for free practice at 09:25 BST, followed by pre-qualifying at 12:15 BST and qualifying at 16:50 BST.
