Steller Motorsport victorious at Silverstone 500 with Silver Class win

Making a triumphant one-off return to the Intelligent Money British GT Championship, Steller Motorsport claimed victory in the Silver Class at the prestigious Silverstone 500.

Despite making the switch to Corvette power for its 2025 GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS campaign, Steller Motorsport elected to field its tried-and-tested Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II at Silverstone, a familiar machine from past campaigns.

With Matt Topham and Darren Burke behind the wheel, the duo delivered fast, consistent performances and the team executed three well-timed pit stops throughout the three-hour race to cross the line in ninth overall and first in class.

The class win adds another highlight to Steller Motorsport’s record of success, and underlines the team’s strength and versatility, as attentions now shift to the second round of the GT World Challenge Europe season and the first Sprint Cup round of the year, which takes place at Brands Hatch on 3-4 May.

Team manager Max Daymond said of the team's win, "Our focus this year is obviously to have a successful debut season with the Corvette in GT World Challenge, but when we had an opportunity to enter the Silverstone 500 it was an easy thing to commit to. Silverstone is on our doorstep and the Audi can certainly still be competitive in the right hands; I think both Matt and Darren showed that this weekend, and we've shown our adaptability as a team. We'll enjoy this success and we're looking at a podium and a win from our first two outings of 2025, but tomorrow our focus is firmly back on Brands Hatch and trying to add a third podium finish to our season's tally."
